Once upon a time in India, there lived a king who thought he was very knowledgeable and intelligent. He boasted to his advisers that he was so smart that no one in the land could trick him. His advisers knew it was not wise to boast of one's intelligence, so they told him they would find a man who could trick and outsmart him. The king immediately set up a challenge. He brought out a large lump of gold and said, “Find me a man who is clever enough to steal this gold from me. If he is successful, I will reward him richly!”
The advisers brought a few goldsmiths before the king. The goldsmiths bowed before the king and introduced themselves.
“How much of this gold do you think you can steal?” the king asked the goldsmiths.
The first goldsmith answered, “A little, your majesty.”
The second one answered, “About a quarter, your majesty.”
“I might be able to steal half, your majesty,” replied the third one.
The youngest goldsmith in the group said, “I can steal all of the gold, your majesty!”
The king was surprised at the young goldsmith's claim. “What is your name?” he asked.
“Your majesty, my name is Rajoo and I believe I can steal that entire lump of gold!”
“Can you now, young man?” the king asked. “Very well, I want you to carve the image of the god Ganesh out of this lump of gold, and you have seven days to do it! My guards will watch you. If you can steal the gold within seven days, I will reward you richly.”
